MILES C. BORTON

CLEAR LAKE – Miles C. Borton, 83, of 404 S. Ninth St., Clear Lake, died Sunday (July 12, 1987) at home.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church, 508 Second Ave. N., Clear Lake. The Rev James Louk will officiate with burial in the Clear Lake Cemetery.

Visitation is after 2 p.m. today at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. Fourth St., Clear Lake. The family requests memorials to the Miles C. Borton Memorial Fund.

Mr. Borton was born Nov. 15, 1903 in Union Township, Cerro Gordo County, the son of Clarence and Hattie (Miles) Borton. He moved to Missouri for four years as a child. He had farmed in the Clear Lake area all his life.

On June 26, 1934, he was married to Alice Grell at Garner.

Mr. Borton was a member of the United Methodist Church in Clear Lake, IOOF of Clear Lake and the Golden Wedding Jubilee Club of North Iowa.

Survivors include his wife, Alice of Clear Lake; one son, Ronald, LaPorte City; one daughter, Mrs. Fred (Nadine) Paullus, Mason City; one brother, Walter of Littleton, Colo.; one sister, Mrs. Margaret Wreghitt, Mason City; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
