BOND RITES HELD IN FLORIDA SATURDAY

CLEAR LAKE – Funeral services for Fred W. Bond, of Clear Lake were held at Clearwater, Fla., Saturday afternoon.

Mr. Bond was born in Buffalo, N.Y., Feb. 24, 1876. He was educated in the Buffalo schools. An engineer by profession, Mr. Bond as a young man was employed by the U.S. corps of engineers in rivers and harbors work on the Great Lakes. Later he worked as superintendent of construction for the Lackawassa Steel company near Buffalo.

After the absorbtion of the Lackawassa company by Bethlehem Steel company, Mr. Bond operated stone quarries for Bethlehem in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. He retired from active business in 1926.

In 1899 Mr. Bond was married to Miss Katherine Kener, who died in 1940. Mr. Bond was married in 1941 to Mrs. Della Gardner McGrady of Clear Lake. He died at Clearwater Thursday following a major operation.

He is survived by his wife, Della G. Bond; 3 sons, Capt. Kener E. Bond, U.S.N.R. (retired) of Buffalo, N.Y.; Beverly B. Bond of South Norwalk, Conn., and Fred N. Bond, Jr., Chicago, and 5 grandchildren.

He was a member of Varity Lodge No. 250, A.F and A.M., and the Rotary Club of Clear Lake. H will be buried at Clear Lake in May.
