VERONICA BISGROVE

CLEAR LAKE – Mrs. Veronica Marie Bisgrove, 90, of 412 S. Ninth St., died Monday (Jan. 6, 1992) at the Oakwood Care Center in Clear Lake.

Funeral services are set for 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, with Monsignor Joseph J. Slepicka officiating. Burial will be in the Clear Lake Cemetery.

Visitation is after 4 p.m. Thursday at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. Fourth. Scriptural wake services will be 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Bisgrove was born Feb. 18, 1901, in Sabula, the daughter of John and Susan Beatty Doyle.

She moved to a farm two miles east of Clear Lake with her folks, and graduated from St. Joseph Academy in Mason City. She attended Mason City Junior College.

On Oct. 16, 1926, she married Lester (Buck) Bisgrove at the chapel in St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Mason City. They lived in various houses around Clear Lake until they moved to the farm a half mile east of Clear Lake on Highway 18, where they established Bisgrove Dairies. Retiring in 1969, they moved to Clear Lake, 110 S. 12th St., and later moved to their present address.

She loved reading, painting and needlework.

She belonged to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband, Lester (Buck) Bisgrove of Clear Lake; two daughters, Mrs. Wayne (Joan) Ashland, Clear Lake, and Mrs. Robert (Donna) Railsback of Terre Haute, Ind.; one son, Alan (Jerry) and his wife, Sue Bisgrove of Algona; nine grandchildren, Greg Ashland, Debra Dannen, Michael Ashland, Steven Railsback, Patrick Railsback, Ann Orman, Chad Bisgrove, Jody Bisgrove, and Judd Bisgrove; eight great grandchildren, Jennifer Dannen, Trish Dannen, Grant Railsback, Garret Railsback, Lauren Railsback, Brianna Bisgrove, Jared Bisgrove and Thad Bisgrove.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Harry Doyle, a sister, Irene (Sister Gabriel) and one great-grandchild.
