AGNES W. BELL
CLEAR LAKE - Agnes W. Bell, 95, formerly of Clear Lake and Mason City, died Dec. 3, 2009, at the Sartori Hospital, Cedar Falls. A graveside service at the Clear Lake Cemetery will be held at a later date. According to her wishes, her body has been cremated.
Agnes was born Jan. 15, 1914, in Penfield, Pa., the daughter of Samuel and Emma (Whitehouse) Moorehouse. She graduated from high school. She married Mathew Bell in 1932 in Cumberland, Md. They moved from Dayton, Ohio, in 1949 to Clear Lake, where they lived on North Shore Drive. She was a nurses aid at the Ritter Nursing Home. In the summer, she also cooked for the Outing Club.
Agnes loved square dancing and cribbage. She was a member of First Congregational Church in Clear Lake and later in Mason City.
Agnes is survived by her children, Shirley Prestholt of Mason City, Mathew (Carol) Bell of Bradenton, Fla., Maxine Veech of Cedar Falls, and Christine (Gary) Price of Mason City; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Agnes was preceded in death her parents, husband (1959); five brothers, William, Fred, Ernest, Albert and Eugene; six sisters, Elsie, Ruth, Nellie, Edythe, Ada and Effie; son-in-law, Jack Prestholt; grandson, Russell Prestholt; and great-granddaughter, Anna Gobeli.
