DEATH OF MISS ANNA BURKUM
Miss Anna Burkum was born in Wisconsin about fifty years ago and with her parents came to Clear Lake and from here she went to Minneapolis where she worked at dressmaking up to the time of her last illness.
About a month ago she was taken with appendicitis for which she was operated on at the Fairview Hospital. From this she seemed to recover nicely, but bowel trouble set in necessitating a second operation following which complications set in which resulted in her death on Sunday.
She is survived by her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. J. O. Burkum, three brothers, John and Jas., of Clear Lake, and Elmer of Colorado; four sisters, Mrs. Fred Carlson of Oklahoma; Mrs. John Hesseldahl of Colorado and the Misses Emma and Bertha of Clear Lake.
She was a lady of a kind and sunny disposition and had many friends.
Her sister, Mrs. Fred Carlson of Oklahoma, and her brother, John, of Clear Lake, were with her at the time of her death.
The funeral services will be held from the Lutheran church this afternoon at 2 o’clock, conducted by the Rev. C. C. A. Jensenn. Her remains will be laid to rest in the Clear Lake Cemetery.
