TROY BURKE

Funeral services for Troy R. Burke, 17, of Fertile, were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Church of Christ, Fertile. He died Tuesday (June 19, 1984) at home.

The Rev. Alan Sheldon of the Church of Christ, Mason City, officiated and burial was in Ventura Cemetery.

The family requests memorials be made to the Troy R. Burke Memorial Fund.

Born Jan. 6, 1967 in Iowa City, Mr. Burke was the son of Gerald and Sandy (Morse) Burke. He was a junior at Forest City High School, where he was active in the track program. He also worked as a cook at Perkins, Clear Lake.

He was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Clear Lake, and a member of the Black Powder Club, Fertile.

Survivors include his father, Gerald “Jerry” Burke, East Grand Forks, Minn.; his mother Sandy Burke, Fertile; one sister, Tara Burke, Fertile; two brothers, Tracy and Travis Burke, both of Fertile; a maternal grandmother, Ida Morse, Fertile, and a paternal grandmother, Lois Galagher, Grand Forks, N.D.

Pallbearers were Tom Hare, Alan Hare, Danny Kingston, Todd Olson, Roland O’Donnell, and Mike Engebretson.
