ROBERT E. ZOBEL

VENTURA – Robert E. Zobel, 65, of Ventura Heights, Ventura, died Sunday (April 26, 1987) at a Mason City hospital.

Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. 4th St., Clear Lake, with the Rev. Bernard Olson officiating. Private burial services will be in the Clear Lake Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

He was born July 24, 1921, at Ventura, the son of Augustus C. and Maude E. (Carr) Zobel.

He attended Ventura schools and farmed with his father north of Ventura for a short time.

On Aug. 12, 1953, Mr. Zobel married Juanita Settles in Montgomery, Ill.

He lived in Illinois for a short time before moving to Wyoming where he worked on road construction for many years. Mr. Zobel moved back to Ventura in 1965 and most recently was employed by the Clear Lake Bakery until retiring due to ill health.

Survivors include three daughters, Laura Krambeer, Ventura; Donna Rapp, Geneva, and Roberta Zobel, Williston, Fla.; a son, Michael, of Fort Meyers, Fla.; two brothers, Leighton, of Clear Lake, and Myron of California, and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a granddaughter.
