MRS. SNEESBY, 85, PASSED AWAY SUN.

Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret A. Sneesby, 85, 111 East State street, who passed away at a local hospital Sunday morning at 10 o’clock from infirmities of old age, were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock from Ward’s Funeral Home. The Rev. Thos. B. Collins, pastor of the Methodist Church, conducted the rites and burial was made in the Clear Lake Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Fred Moffett, Elmer Moffet, Oscar Thompson, Loren Conklin, Fredrick Opel and Alfred Shook. Mrs. R. A. Monaghen accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Harry Mason sang “Rock of Ages” and “The Old Rugged Cross.”

Margaret A. Hill was born Sept. 22, 1853, in Harverstrau, Rockland County, N. Y. At the age of 3 with her parents she moved to Whitewater, Wis., where they lived for nine years, then moving to a farm in Lincoln Township.

In 1870 she was married to Sydney Cannon who died 20 years later. In 1890 she married James W. Sneesby who passed away two years ago. She also had one son, Perry, who preceded her in death.

For the last fifteen years she has made her home at 111 East State Street. Three years ago her health failed her and her niece, Mrs. Mary Opel, came to make her home with her and care for her. She has been bedfast for the last three months and a week ago Sunday was taken to the Lake hospital to be cared for.

She was known as “Aunt Mag’ to many of her friends. She did much fancy work and basket weaving. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was last of a family of ten children.

Transcriber’s Note – Margaret A. Sneesby was born September 22, 1853, died July 1939 and was buried in the Clear Lake Cemetery.
