T. O. HOWARD DIES AT HOME

CLEAR LAKE – Funeral services for Thomas O. Howard, 79, who died at his home, 301 North Third Street, Sunday morning following an illness of five weeks, will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Methodist church. The Rev. Thomas B. Collins, pastor, will conduct the rites and burial will be in Clear Lake Cemetery.

Mr. Howard was born May 21, 1862, in the same house in which he died, the son of Mr. and Mrs. T. O. Howard. Jan. 1, 1886, he was married to Miss Etta L. Daniels, who died at Wesley some years later and is buried at Corwith.

To them were born two children, Mrs. James Crozier, Detroit, Mich., and Eugene Howard, Minneapolis, Minn.

In February 1895, he was married to Miss Minnie Obert, Valley, Wis., where he had lived several years. The family continued to live at Valley, with the exception of two years in South Dakota until moving to Clear Lake 11 years ago.

Mr. Howard is survived by his wife, five other children, Mrs. Ralph Ott and Mrs. Jesse Duncan, Clear Lake; Mrs. Orton Olson and Roy Howard, Valley, Wis., and Mrs. Siebert Shoop, Central Heights, Mason City, and 21 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mrs. O. J. Hubbard, Portland, Iowa, who died 20 years ago; a daughter, Mrs. Ethel Ott, Clear Lake, who died 11 years ago, and four children who died in infancy and are buried in Wisconsin.

During his active life Mr. Howard was a blacksmith but had lived in retirement since returning to Clear Lake. He was a member of the Methodist Church.
