DEATH OF MRS. D. M. HOOKER

Emma A. Minar was born at Allen’s Grove, Wis., Dec. 25, 1861, and died very suddenly from heart failure at her home near Fertile, Feb. 21, 1914, age 52 years, 1 month and 27 days. Was married to D. M. Hooker Sept. 20, 1882, and to this union were born five children, two sons, the older of whom died at 9 days old, at Nora Springs, the older Leon M. Hooker, died at Clear Lake Sept. 21, 1909 at the age of 24 years; the three girls, two are living; Nora, now Mrs. John Jorgensen of Clear Lake, Iowa, and Gladys, unmarried and living at home; Iva, having died at Wheelerwood, Jan. 2, 1905, at the age of 18.

Mrs. Hooker united with the church in her girlhood days. Her last church home being with the M.E. Church of Clear Lake. She was a true and faithful wife, mother, sister and friend, and leaves to mourn her departure a devoted husband, two daughters, three sisters, all living too far distant to attend the funeral, excepting her sister, Mrs. G. W. Sharp, of Marble Rock, Iowa. She was preceded by her father, mother and one brother.

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Schmidt of Fertile. There was a large crowd and the floral offerings were profuse and beautiful. The remains were laid to rest in the Clear Lake Cemetery.
