FREDRICK J. HUBER

CLEAR LAKE – Funeral services for Fredrick J. Huber, 87, 204 Fifth Ave. N., will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 1001 Ninth Ave. S., Clear Lake. The Rev. Edward Shields will officiate, with burial in the Clear Lake Cemetery where graveside military rites will be conducted.

Mr. Huber died Friday (April 21, 1989) in a drowning accident at Clear Lake.

Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. Fourth, with a scripture wake service at 7 p.m. tonight at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Fredrick J. Huber Memorial Fund.

Mr. Huber was born Sept. 26, 1901, in rural Ventura, a son of Henry and Mary (Stork) Huber. He attended Ventura schools, and then Clear Lake schools. After completing his education, he worked for Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, Kan.

On Jan. 10, 1942, he was married to Lovelle Sears at Wichita. Shortly after their marriage, he entered the U.S. Army. After his discharge he went back to Boeing Aircraft.

In 1947 he moved to Clear Lake and began working for the city of Clear Lake. He worked for the city until retiring in 1971. His hobbies included fishing and flying.

He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and American Legion Post No. 222, Clear Lake.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews, including Eugene Huber of Clear Lake.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two brothers and one sister.
