HARVEY HOPKEY

Funeral services for Harvey C. Hopkey, 67, of 221 S. 4th St., were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church. Burial was in Clear Lake Cemetery. Mr. Hopkey died Friday (Oct. 25, 1985) at home.

Mr. Hopkey was born Dec. 29, 1917 on a farm in rural Alexander to Charles and Malinda (Meyer) Hopkey. He attended schools in the Alexander area.

On June 1, 1940, he married Lila Fjetland at Hampton. They farmed for 25 years in the Alexander area, moving to Clear Lake in 1967. He then began working as a paint contractor until his retirement in 1984.

He was active in the Clear Lake Bowling Association and was a member of the Bowling Hall of Fame in Clear Lake. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. In June, Mr. and Mrs. Hopkey celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary at the church.

Survivors include his wife, Lila; one daughter, Mrs. Ray (Sharon) Barlow, Hampton; one son, David of Newton; his mother, Malinda Hopkey, Hampton; two brothers, Walter of Buellton, Calif., and Gaehart, Clear Lake, and four grandchildren.

Janice Bouma and Scott Sadler provided music at the funeral service.

Active pallbearers were Jim Frampton, Merlyn Johnson, Everett Shill, Bud Meyers, Lloyd Carmody, Dick Clapper. Honorary pallbearers were Arnold Simon, Lee Melhus and Bill Sharp
