FLORNETTA HATFIELD RITES HELD IN SEATTLE

Funeral services for Flornetta Hatfield, 20, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hatfield, Seattle, who was killed instantly, when she was struck by a taxi on New Year’s Day, were held in Seattle at the Green Lake Chapel. The Rev. Moats of the First Methodist church and Rev. Willard of the Evangelical church were in charge.

A trio sang “The City Four Square” and “Safe in the Arms of Jesus.” Pallbearers were from her office.

The body was placed in a vault until a later date when it will be brought to Clear Lake for burial.

Flornetta was born at Austin, Minn., Jan. 19, 1921, and came with her parents to Clear Lake when she was 3 months old. She graduated from the Clear Lake high school in 1942, and attended Hamilton’s school of commerce, Mason City. She had been employed by the District Transportation Office of Seattle for the last 7 months.

Survivors are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hatfield, and two sisters, Alberta and Loretta.

She was a member of the Clear Lake Methodist church and of the Youth Fellowship group.

Transcriber’s Note – Flornetta Hatfield was born January 19, 1924 and died January 1, 1944.
