EARL DEAN HYDE

CLEAR LAKE – Earl Dean Hyde, 63, of rural Clear Lake and Coulter, Iowa, died Friday (Oct. 2, 1992) at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Mason City.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the First Congregational Church in Clear Lake, with the Rev. Charles Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Clear Lake Cemetery.

Visitation is after 3 p.m. today at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel in Clear Lake. The family suggests memorials in his name.

Earl Hyde was born Oct. 26, 1928 in Cerro Gordo County north of Clear Lake, the son of Lynn C. and Vera M. (Westcott) Hyde. He attended Grant No. 7 and 8 country school and graduated from Ventura High School in 1947.

He has farmed north of Clear Lake all his life. He was a crop hail adjuster for Farm Bureau. He enjoyed playing cards with his buddies, and was an avid Hawkeye fan.

He married Margaret (Marge) Christiansen Dec. 28, 1990, in Las Vegas, Nev.

He was president of the board of directors of Midwest Soya in Clear Lake, and a member of the Iowa Cattlemen’s Association.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret (Marge) Hyde, Clear Lake and Coulter; three children, Marie Carman, Jefferson, Iowa, Tom Hyde, Clear Lake, and Ann Moyier, Brashear, Mo.; three step-children, Jerry Morton and John Christiansen, both of Coulter, Jennifer Kropp, Klemme; 14 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Dan Hyde; two brothers, Larry and Walter Bill Hyde; and one sister, Linda Marshall
