JEANETTE ESTELLA HURD

In the last issue of the Mirror we made brief mention of the death of Miss Jeanette Hurd which occurred at the home of her mother Mrs. Joseph Hurd, six miles north of town, on Thursday morning, May 19.

Deceased was born December 14, 1874, on the farm in Lincoln township and there she has resided all her life.

She was known to all to be a young woman of beautiful, upright character. Her friends were numbered only by her acquaintances. She was an earnest worker and everything she undertook was done well and faithfully.

Her education started at home and was completed in the Clear Lake high from which she graduated with honors in the year 1897.

She leaves to mourn her untimely death a mother, two sisters, Mrs. A. J. Stork, of Clear Lake, Miss Lottie Hurd, of Minneapolis, and brother William, who resides on the farm with his mother.

Funeral services were held from the home on Sunday afternoon conducted by Rev. F. W. Keagy, of the Methodist church. Members of the class of ’97 were pallbearers. Interment was made in the Clear Lake cemetery.
