MRS. WALZER DIES AT LAKE

CLEAR LAKE – Gertrude Paschen Walzer, 73, died at her home at 1312 2nd Ave. N., early Thursday morning. She had lived in Clear Lake since 1951.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Methodist Church with the Rev. W. R. Noland, Estherville, officiating. Burial will be in the Clear Lake Cemetery. Ward Funeral Home is in charge.

She was born Sept. 20, 1884, at Muscatine, the daughter of William and Barbara Paschen. She attended the Worth County schools, an academy at Nora Springs and Iowa State Teachers College, Cedar Falls. She taught school for six years in Worth County.

For a number of years she lived on a farm north of Fertile, coming to Clear Lake six years ago.

Surviving her are a nephew, George Paschen, Mason City; and a niece, Mrs. William Wilbur, St. Francis, Kan.

Her parents and a brother preceded her in death. She was a member of the Methodist Church and WSCS.

Transcriber’s Note – Gertrude Paschen Walzer was born September 20, 1884, died October 1957 and was buried in the Clear Lake Cemetery, Section 3 Row 4. The headstone states her birth as 1879.
