FRANK MARLOW FOUND DEAD; RITES PLANNED SATURDAY

CLEAR LAKE – Frank Marlow, 76, was found dead Thursday in his car in the garage at his home, 1809 S. Coolidge, Mason City

According to Dr. A. J. Herlitzka, medical examiner, Marlow had been dead one week. Death was due to accidental carbon monoxide poisoning, he ruled. Marlow lived alone.

The body was discovered by a neighbor woman, who notified the Cerro Gordo County sheriff’s office. Sheriff’s deputies said that Marlow apparently had gone out to start the car and had remained in the auto. The door on the garage was closed.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 3 p.m. in the Christian Church, with Rev. Richard Miller officiating. Burial will be in Clear Lake Cemetery. The Wilcox Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers selected are John Jenkins, Viva Dyre, Daniel Sharp, Charles O’Harrow, Harold Martin and Emery Toresdahl.

Mr. Marlow was born Aug. 7, 1889, at Deer Creek, Ill., the son of Frank and Margaret (Dawson) Marlow. He had farmed northeast of Clear Lake near the Winnebago River for many years. He was a member of the Christian Church.

Survivors include two sons, Harold, Rockwell, and Allan Bruce, Iowa City, and one daughter, Lottie Stinger, Durand, Mich.; five grandchildren; one brother, Lewis, Ogden; and two sisters, Mrs. Art Reum, Carlock, Ill., and Mrs. Fanny Emery, Peoria, Ill.

Transcriber’s Note – Frank Marlow was born August 7, 1889, died February 10, 1966 and was buried in the Clear Lake Cemetery, Section B Row 8.
