OSCAR A. SPENCER

Oscar Spencer, 87, of Clear Lake, died Monday, Dec. 26, at the Americana Care Center, Mason City, of natural causes.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. today, Wednesday Dec. 28, at ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Kenneth Ubbelhohde officiating. Burial will be in the Clear Lake Cemetery. The family requests memorials be given to the IOOF Lodge, Clear Lake.

He was born Jan. 22, 1901, in New Richmond, Wis., the son of Morris and Pauline (Jerde) Spencer. He attended school in New Richmond. He worked for a feed mill in New Richmond.

He married Letha Mae Spencer. She died in 1932. He then moved to Mason City and worked for Mason City Brick and Tile.

He married Thelma Peterson on April 29, 1951, in Mason City.

He was a member of the IOOF Lodge, Clear Lake

Survivors include one daughter, Marilyn Stamp, of California, and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, two brothers and one sister.

Pallbearers were Shelby Pierce, Kenneth Lincicum, Sam Arnold, Donald Nelson, and Alfred Larson

Transcriber’s Note – Oscar A. Spencer was born January 22, 1901, died December 26, 1988 and was buried in the Clear Lake Cemetery.
