THELMA IRENE SPENCER
CLEAR LAKE – Mrs. Thelma Irene Spencer, 72, of 707 10th Ave. N., Clear Lake, died Tuesday (Aug. 12, 1986) at her home following a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Congregational Church, 915 2nd Place N., Clear Lake, with the Rev. Daniel Krumrei officiating. Burial will be in Clear Lake Cemetery.
Visitation is after 2:30 p.m. today at ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. 4th. A Rebekah service will be held at 7 tonight at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to Hospice of Cerro Gordo. She was born Feb. 3, 1914, at Calgary, Canada, the daughter of William and Ollie (Rowe) Peterson. She was a graduate of Clear Lake High School and had worked for several years as a housekeeper for the Stillman and Knutson families at Clear Lake.
On April 29, 1951, she married Oscar Spencer.
She was a member of Congregational Church, Clear Lake, a 48-year member of Tina Rebekah Lodge No. 105, Clear Lake, and the Clear Lake Grandmothers Club.
She is survived by her husband, Oscar, Clear Lake, and one step-daughter, Marilyn Stamps of California.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
