ELIZABETH MACDONALD

Elizabeth (Betty) MacDonald, 63, of 214 N. Lakeview Drive, Clear Lake, died Saturday, July 21, 1984 at a Mason City hospital.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday July 25, at the United Methodist Church. The Rev. Bernard Olson will officiate. The organist will be Paul Anderson and the soloist will be Susan Micklick. Burial will be in the Clear Lake Cemetery. The family requests memorials to be made to the Betty J. MacDonald Memorial Fund.

Mrs. MacDonald was born July 8, 1921, in Iowa City, Iowa. She attended Mason City schools and graduated from Mason City High School in 1939.

She was married June 5, 1939 in Owatonna, Minn. Her husband preceded her in death in 1948.

Survivors include her daughter, Sue Grandon, Burr Oak, Iowa; two sons, Jack MacDonald, Rochester, Minn., and Jim MacDonald, Clear Lake; three sisters, Mrs. Lowell (Peggy) Simpson, Iowa Falls, Iowa; Ms. Nancy Auffet, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and Mrs. Patricia Nelson, Cedar Rapids; three brothers, Fred Hotchkiss Jr., West Van Nuys, Calif.; Gordon Hotchkiss, Des Moines, Iowa; and Gary Hotchkiss, Security, Col.; and five grandchildren.

Honorary casket bearers are Christopher Grandon, Joel MacDonald, Danny Hotchkiss, Terry Hotchkiss, Scott Hotchkiss and Mike Simpson.

Mrs. MacDonald was a Clear Lake resident for 35 years and was employed as a cook for several years. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, a Gold Star wife, and a member of the United Methodist Church, Clear Lake.
