MRS. MADSEN FUNERAL HELD

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Zion Lutheran Church for Mrs. Anna Madsen, 90, former Clear Lake resident who died in a Belmont nursing home Feb. 23, after a long illness.

Rev. Murley A. Severtson officiated with burial in Clear Lake Cemetery. Ward Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Anna Christine Madsen was born Dec. 27, 1877, in Esberg, Denmark. She received her education in Esberg and was married to Marius Madsen on July 18, 1902, at Esberg.

The family came to the United States in 1911, stopping for several months at Racine, Wis., and coming to Clear Lake the same year. Mr. Madsen was a cabinet maker until his death in 1926. She continued to make her home in Clear Lake except when visiting with her children, until entering the nursing home in Belmond in July 1965.

She is survived by two sons, Henry, Milwaukee, and William, Clear Lake, and by two daughters, Mrs. Milton (Esther) Bloomquist, of Escalon, Calif., and mrs. William (Marie) Lacey, Goodell; and 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters and one grandchild.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Pallbearers were William Lacey, Jr., Roger Lacey, Ronald Lacey, Don Madsen, Richard Kaduce and Vernon Pralle. Organist was Mrs. A. E. Folkmann and soloist was Mrs. Dale Becker.

Transcriber’s Note – Anna Christine Madsen was born December 27, 1877, died February 23, 1968 and was buried in Clear Lake Cemetery, Section C Row 8.
