DONALD D. MADSEN

Donald (Denny) D. Madsen, 45, of Naples, Fla., formerly of Clear Lake, died Monday, June 22, 1992, at Naples, Fla.

A memorial service will be held Friday, July 3, 1992, 10:30 a.m. at First United Methodist Church Wayside Chapel in Mason City. The Rev. Jerry Oakland will officiate. Committal and military honors by the Clear Lake V.F.W. will follow at the Clear Lake Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church. The family suggests memorials in his name.

Donald Madsen was born July 28, 1946 in Clear Lake, Iowa. He graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1964. He served in the United States Navy from 1964 to 1969, spending time in Viet Nam during 1968 where he was twice wounded and received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.

After his discharge from the Navy, he attended North Iowa Area Community College and worked in the Clear Lake and Mason City area until moving to Florida. He was a member of V.F.W. Post 4868 of Clear Lake.

Survivors include a daughter, Amy, a son Aaron and their mother Sherry Madsen, all of Mason City; his wife, Marilyn, of Naples, Fla.; a brother Gary Jo Madsen of Brighton, Colo.; his father and step-mother Don and Mary Lou Madsen, of Clear Lake; his mother and step-father Ray and Marcy Lindquist of Mankato, Minn.; and eight step-brothers and sisters.
