MRS. PERCY FISTLER

Mrs. Percy (Helen G.) Fistler, 91, former Clear Lake resident died at Perham, Minn. on Friday, June 3.

Services were held on Monday, June 6 at the Congregational Church with Reverend Eldon Jandebeur, of the Christian Church, Clear Lake, officiating. Interment was in the Clear Lake Cemetery, with Ward-Van Slyke Funeral Home in charge. Mrs. Tom Treloar was the organist.

Helen G. (Bly) Fistler was born March 7, 1886 in Rochelle, Ill., the daughter of Peter O. and Anna B. (Espe) Bly. She graduated from Rochelle High School in 1906, and taught four years in rural schools near Creston and Forreston, Ill.

Mrs. Fistler moved to Clear Lake in 1910. She married Percy W. Fistler on September 12, 1911 and they lived in Clear Lake until 1955. Fistler worked for the Clear Lake Telephone Co. Fistlers moved to Perham, Minn. in September of 1955.

Mrs. Fistler was a member of the Clear Lake Congregational Church and Women’s Fellowship for many years. She was also a member of Civic League, Pythian Sisters and the Amvet Auxiliary.

She is survived by two sons, Kenneth Fistler, Napa, Calif., and Dr. Raymond Fistler, Perham, Minn., five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and a brother, Austin H. Bly, Colorado Springs, Colo.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Percy, a son, Harold and one brother.

Honorary pallbearers were Leonard Cash, Earl Ashland, Ben Krall and Frank Swanson. Pallbearers were Harold Thompson, Clifford Wilson, Jim Fistler, Virgil Duregger, Nibbs Nesbit and Jon Fistler.

Transcriber’s Note – Helen G. Fistler was born March 7, 1886, died June 3, 1977 and was buried in the Clear Lake Cemetery.
