HENRY BUTTS DIES, RITES WERE SATURDAY
Funeral services were held Saturday for Henry Butts, 82, 317 ½ Main Ave., who died Thursday in a Clear Lake nursing home following a lengthy illness.
The Rev. Murley A. Severtson, pastor of the Zion Lutheran Church officiated at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Ward-Van Slyke Funeral Home. Burial was in Clear Lake Cemetery.
Mrs. Harry Mason was organist. Pallbearers were J. B. Osnes, George Lunn, Hugh Kilburn, Leo Stork, E. A. Brown, Claus Daniels, George Heetland and Harry Wishard.
Henry Butts was born June 18, 1886, at Monroe, Wis., the son of George and Louise Butts. When he was three years old the family moved to Titonka. He received his education at St. Benedict and then entered the drainage business and for several years worked for the Peoples’ Gas and Electric Co.
Mr. Butts served with the U.S. Army in France during World War I and later was an interpreter for German prisoners.
He was married to Margie Rickard July 25, 1920, at Mason City. They have lived in Clear Lake since their marriage.
Mr. Butts is survived by his wife, Margie; a daughter, Mrs. Paul (Marguerite) Allison, Gardena, Calif.; one granddaughter; two brothers, Sam Butts, Phoenix, Ariz., Eddie Butts, Los Angeles, Calif.; three sisters, Rose Mack, Phoenix, Ariz.;
