LAST RITES HELD FOR HAROLD FISTLER OF LAKE
LARGE CROWD OF MOURNERS FILLS CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH AT RITES

CLEAR LAKE – Last rites for Harold Fistler, son of Mr. and Mrs. P. W. Fistler, West Division Street, were held Wednesday. A private service for the family was held at the Ward Funeral Home in the morning and other services were held at the Congregational Church in the afternoon.

There were large banks of flowers from friends and relatives, students, teachers, and business associates of Mr. Fistler. The Rev. H. E. Blough, pastor, officiated at both the church and the Clear Lake Cemetery where interment was made.

A section of the church was occupied by students and classmates of the 1935 graduating class of which the youth was a member. Mrs. C. A. Pease sang “No Night There,” by Danks, accompanied by Mrs. F. E. DeMott.

The Phillips 66 station where Fistler was employed and the business office of the Clear Lake telephone company, of which his father is manager, were closed during the services.

Pallbearers were chosen from his classmates and friends: Phillip Sheridan, Clifford Vik, Bob Chizek, Floyd Jacobsen, Keith Holt and Dick Krall.

A number of out-of-town relatives attended the services. Surviving him are his parents and two brothers, Kenneth and Raymond.

He died Monday morning from the effects and complications of a major operation underwent April 25, at a Mason City hospital.

Transcriber’s note – Harold C. Fistler was born 1916, died 1936 and was buried in the Clear Lake Cemetery, Section 2 Row 13.
