LAVONNE J. ELIASON
CLEAR LAKE – LaVonne J. Eliason, 67, of 207 26th Ave. S. , died Wednesday (Aug. 23, 2000) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, at the First Congregational Church, 205 W. 10th Ave. N., with the Rev. Thomas Healey officiating.
The family will greet friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Friday, at the Ward-Van Slyke colonial Chapel, 101 N. Fourth St., and also for one hour prior to services at the church. Memorials may be directed to the Hospice of North Iowa.
LaVonne was born on June 7, 1933, in Frost, Minn., the daughter of Claus and Lena (Krominga) Daniels. She graduated from Fertile High School in 1950, and later graduated from La James School of Cosmetology in Mason City.
LaVonne was united in marriage to George Eliason on May 30, 1979, at the First Congregational Church in Clear Lake. She worked as a seamstress for many years before opening and running her own salon, “Scissors Salon,” in Clear Lake, for more than 10 years.
LaVonne was a woman of many talents including wood-carving, of which she taught several classes, knitting, crocheting, quilting, upholstering and collecting and refurbishing old dolls.
She also was an avid reader and an active member of the First Congregational Church and the Clear Lake VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
LaVonne is survived by three children, Victoria Dilocker and her husband, Tim, of Cherokee, Paul Eliason, of Tampa Bay, Fla., and Dorcey Mosher and her husband, Monte, of Des Moines; nine grandchildren, Stephen Dilocker and his wife, Crystal of Travis Air Force Base, Calif., Leeha and Jade Dilocker of Cherokee, Shannon Eliason, of Tampa Bay, Brooke Eliason, of Mason City, and Jennifer, Amanda, Samantha and Dillon Mosher, all of Des Moines; two sisters, Ruby Humburg and her husband, Ken, of Clear Lake, and Evelyn “Effie” Humburg of Ventura; one brother, Ron Daniels and his wife, Terri, of Clear Lake; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
LaVonne was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George; and one brother, Donald Daniels.
