ARCHIE R. ELSBURY
MASON CITY –Archie R. Elsbury, 77, 1125 First St. N.W., died Tuesday (June 27, 1989) at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Mason City, of natural causes.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the First Methodist Church, 119 S. Georgia Ave., with the Rev. Charles Wallace officiating. Burial will be in Clear Lake Cemetery.
Mr. Elsbury was born Nov. 25, 1911, at Lake City to Ray and Minnie (Edgington) Elsbury. His family moved to Mason City in 1913, where he attended school.
He was employed at Decker’s until the meatpacking plant closed. Since then he had been working for Lane Brothers in Mason City.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, charter member of the Elks Lodge, member of the Moose Lodge and Armour Retirees.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Friday at Hogan-Bremer Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E. Memorials may be given to the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Viola, Mason City; one son, Robert, Ventura; one stepson, Jack Edgington, St. Ansgar; one step-daughter, Bonnie Jongerius, Sheldon; one brother, Aaron, Rock Falls ; one grandson; and six step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife and one son.
