J. L. DUNCAN FUNERAL HELD AT WILCOX CHAPEL

CLEAR LAKE – Funeral services for Jesse L. Duncan, 53, who died at his home, 201 S. Oak Street, Saturday morning following a stroke, were held Tuesday afternoon at the Wilcox Chapel. The Rev. Warner M. Hubbard, Methodist pastor, conducted the rites and burial was in Clear Lake Cemetery.

Members of Stafford Post No. 222, American Legion, conducted services at the graveside. The color guard included C. A. Pease. Don Swanson, Arthur Stoltz and H. L. Erickson and the firing squad, Dick Halford, Stanley Bowen, C. Gunderson and Bob Thompson. Forde Lee was in charge and Ronald Petersen was bugler.

Pallbearers were Ray and Ivan Moore, Ralph Duncan and John, Donald and Ralph Ott Jr., nephews of Mr. Duncan. Mrs. L. E. Jacobson, accompanied by Mrs. Harry Mason, sang “My Jesus, As Thou Wilt” and “Close to Thee.” Mmes. Walter Wood and E. J. Lincicum arranged the flowers.

Among relatives from a distance present for the rites were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Duncan and Mrs. Ralph Duncan, Humansville, Mo.; William Duncan and Ray and Ivan Moore, Rogersville, Mo.; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Duncan, Des Moines; Mr. and Mrs. Roger Howard, LaFarge, Wis., and Mr. and Mrs. Orton Olson, Valley, Wis.

Transcriber’s Note – Jesse L. Duncan was born January 28, 1894, died June 22, 1946 and was buried in the Clear Lake Cemetery, Section D Row 3.
