MRS. R. THIES, 39, SUCCUMBS
CLEAR LAKE – Mrs. Royal Thies, 39, Route 2, died Saturday evening at an Iowa City hospital following an illness. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church. The Rev. George Strum will officiate and burial will be at Clear Lake Cemetery. The Wilcox Funeral Home is in charge.
Mrs. Thies is survived by her husband, one son, Ronald, 4, two brothers, Milo Axelsen, Caldwell, Ida., and Leon Axelsen, Milwaukee, and one sister, Esther Carlson, Glen Ellyn, Ill.
Constance Mae Axelsen was born May 6, 1918, at Clear Lake, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L.P. Axelsen. She attended Clear Lake schools, and was graduated at Clear Lake in 1936 and also attended Hamilton College, Mason City. She was married to Royal Thies, Feb. 15, 1941, at the Zion Lutheran Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents, one sister, Gladys Wind, and a brother, Irving Axelsen.
