FUNERAL RITES TO BE TUESDAY AFTERNOON

Charles H. Thomas, 56, died at the home of his sister, Mrs. H.G. Martin, 805 North Federal Avenue, Sunday morning following an illness. He had resided in Mason City, at his sister’s home, for the past five years.

Mr. Thomas was born July 4, 1886, in Hungary. He came to the United States 38 years ago from Hungary. He had resided in this country since that time, having worked for some time with the Wagner Ice company of Charles City. He was a member of the I.O.O.F.

Surviving Mr. Thomas are five sons, Charles Thomas Jr., Mason City, Jack Thomas, with the Pacific Fleet, Wendell Thomas, Austin, Minn., and John and David Thomas, with the Army Air Corps, and two daughters, Mrs. Louise Wilkin, Saratoga, Cal., and Mrs. Marie Hanson, Mason City.

Two brothers, Chris Thomas, Waterloo, and Henry Thomas, Muscoda, Wis., and four sisters, Mrs. Lena Leitterman, Clear Lake, Mrs. H.G. Martin, Mason City, Mrs. C.D. Cronkhite, Terra Haute, Ind., and Mrs. C. R. Barlow, Charles City, also survive.

Funeral services will be held at the Major Memorial Chapel at 2:30 o’clock Tuesday afternoon, with the Rev. George Marsh, pastor of the Christian Church in charge. The I.O.O.F. lodge of Clear Lake will have part of the service.

Burial will be at the Clear Lake Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Major Funeral Home until the time of service.
