PLAN RITES FOR GEORGE ASPLIN

Former Resident Dies of Heart Attack at Painesville, Minn.

CLEAR LAKE - Funeral services for George Asplin, 90 (sic), who died at Painesville, Minn., Friday morning will be held at Williams funeral home Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial will be in Clear Lake cemetery.

Mr. Asplin, a former resident of Garner, where he kept a store and was at one time an officer in the county courthouse, died of a heart attack. His wife died several years ago. They had no children. Surviving him is a brother, Al Asplin, Rochester, Minn., and several more distant relatives, among whom are Mrs. H. C. O'Brien, Clear Lake, and Mrs. H. R. Anderson, Mason City.

Many years aog the Asplin brothers and their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ole Asplin, lived in a house now located back of Clark Branson's residence.

NOTE: According to the cemetery transcription, George Asplin was born September 12, 1853, Norfolk, England. His wife, Elizabeth J. M. (Mytton) Asplin, was born April 30, 1958 in Wales, and died January 19, 1925, Stearns County, Minnesota.
