Obituary - Fred Throssel, Sr.
February 15, 1863 ~ 1947

Funeral services for Fred Throssel, Sr. were conducted at the Methodist church last Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with H. A. Walker, pastor, in charge of the service. Music was furnished by Mrs. Buford Gross and Miss Dorothy Wonsmos. Flowers were in charge of Mrs. Elmer Christensen and Mrs. C. M. Schumacher. Burial was at Pleasant View cemetery, Thornton with graveside service in charge of the Thornton Masonic Lodge. Pallbearers were Albert Beck, I. W. Brogan, Dr. A. L. Dittmer, J. W. Hopley, D. S. Mabb and C. M. Schumacher.

Fred Throssel, Sr. was born at Old Chapin, Franklin county, Iowa, on February 15, 1863, and grew to manhood in that county. He was united in marriage on December 1, 1889 at Wayne, Neb., to Fannie Jane Brittain of Concord, Neb. To this union were born eight children.
