MRS. LENA EDMUNDSON FUNERAL RITES HELD AT VENTURA SATURDAY
CONTINUOUS RESIDENT CLEAR LAKE AND VENTURA VICINITY FOR MANY YEARS

VENTURA –Funeral services for Mrs. Lena Edmundson were held at the U. B. Church in Ventura Saturday afternoon at 2 O’clock, with the Rev. H. Dirks officiating.

Mrs. L. Green, Mrs. Triplett, J. Green and Mrs. Dirks sang “Drifting Down the Valley One By One,” “No Night There” and “There is a home Eternal.”

Pallbearers were Ed Green, Nels Nelson, J.A. Green, Joe Brower, A. Cooley and W.J. Leonard. Interment was made in the Clear Lake Cemetery.

Lena Edmundson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mikel Thronson, was born Jan. 3, 1861, at Black Earth, Wis., and died at her home May 23, 1934 at 3 o’clock at the age of 73 years, 4 months and 20 days.

For the past six months she has been very ill and suffered a great deal with a bad case of Brights disease, being confined to her bed most of the time.

At the age of 16 years, she moved with her parents to a farm near Clear Lake, where she lived until in 1881, when she was united in marriage to Iver Edmundson, who preceded her in death 27 years ago. They made their home in and around Clear Lake and Ventura and vicinity from that time on.

To this union ten children were born, Matt Edmundson, Hayfield; Mrs. Mary Chase, Canada; Mrs. John McMinn, Princeton, Minn.; Mrs. Chas. Zobel, Clear Lake; Albert, Winona, Minn.; Edward, Madelia, Minn.; George, Clear Lake; Mrs. Gilbert Clark, Pocahontas; Mrs. Tilda Maitland and Mrs. Sidney Halford, Ventura.

She leaves to mourn her loss one sister, Mrs. Amos Hyde; one brother, Chris Thronson; 10 children, 21 grandchildren and a number of other relatives and a host of friends. She will be greatly missed as a mother and neighbor in the community.

When a girl, she was confirmed in the Norwegian Lutheran church at Clear Lake, and Jan. 27, 1924, she united with the United Brethren church at Ventura, upon confession of faith, and has held her membership in this church until her death.

Those from away who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Matt Edmundson; Mrs. McKim, Mrs. Charles Zobel, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Edmundson, Edward Edmundson, Mrs. Geo. Edmundson, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Clark, Andrew Edmundson and son, Carl, Lake Wilton, Minn.; and Mrs. John Peterson and son of Crystal Lake.
