SEPTEMBER 7, 1936 - MASON CITY, IOWA

MRS. DAWSON, BURIED AT LAKE
FORMER RESIDENT DIED WHILE VISITING SON AT IDAHO HOME

CLEAR LAKE – Funeral services for Mrs. Millie Dawson, a former resident of this vicinity, who died Wednesday at the home of her son, Arleigh at Burley, Idaho, were held at the Methodist church Sunday afternoon. The Rev. B.W. Riner conducted the rites and burial was in Clear Lake Cemetery.

Those from out of town attending the funeral were Arleigh Dawson; Mr. and Mrs. Emil Nelson, Milnor, N.Dak.; Mr. and Mrs. Ira Shields, Hanlontown; Miss Helen Shields, Manilla; Mrs. Sarah Dawson and Mrs. Margaret Kane, Waywood, Ill.; Mrs. Harry Pine, Mason City; Mrs. Amelia Chadbourne, Orland, Cal.; and Mr. and Mrs. H. Leake, Mason City.

Mrs. D.E. Kenyon and Mrs. A.H. Runcie sang “Safe in the Arms of Jesus,” and “Face to Face.” Mrs. Hattie Stork and Mrs. H.N. Halvorson were in charge of the flowers.

Pallbearers were Fred Moffatt, William McGowan, Clarence McGowan, Peter Swanson, Stephen Hammond and Thomas Howard.

Transcriber’s Note – Millie Dawson was born 1860, died September 1936 and was buried in the Clear Lake Cemetery, Section 3 Row 10.
