HOLD FANKELL RITES IN CHAPEL
THORWALL CONDUCTS FUNERAL SERVICES

CLEAR LAKE – Funeral services for Mrs. Ernest M. Fankell, 42, who died at a Mason City hospital Monday evening following a brief illness, were held at the Wilcox funeral chapel Friday afternoon. The Rev. LaRue N. Thorwall, pastor of Gospel Tabernacle, conducted the rites and burial was in Clear Lake Cemetery.

Ann Conklin and Barbara Lee, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Harry M. Conklin, sang “Rock of Ages” and “Beautiful Isle of Somewhere.” Mmes. Lynn Hyde and Rex Westcott arranged the flowers.

Pallbearers were G.A. and C.N. Prestholt, Amos and Leo Ouverson, Lester Paulson and Earl Hicks. Relatives from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Hicks, San Francisco, Cal., and the Rev. Alvin Prestholt, Chicago.

Mrs. Fankell was born Lucille Prestholt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. O.A. Prestholt, Nov. 20, 1904, in Grant Township. She was graduated from Clear Lake high school in 1923 and was married to Mr. Fankell March 14, 1927. To them 4 children were born: Mary Louise, 17; James, 11; Thomas, 9; and Jane, 6.

Besides her husband and children Mrs. Fankell is survived by her mother, Mrs. O.A. Prestholt; 4 sisters, Mrs. H.M. Leonard, Garden Grove, Cal.; Mrs. Ouver Ouverson, Hanlontown; Mrs. Ford Lee, 520 Marion Park drive, and Mrs. Mabel Thompson, Pasadena, Cal., and 2 brothers, the Rev. Mr. Prestholt, Chicago, and G. M. Prestholt, Fertile.

She was preceded in death by her father, a sister, Mrs. H.A. Walker, and a brother Clifford A. Prestholt.

Transcriber’s Note – Lucille Fankell was born November 20, 1904, died 1946 and was buried in the Clear Lake Cemetery, Section 3 Row 9.
