JOHN FARROW, 83, BURIED AT LAKE

Funeral services for John Farrow, 83, who died at Decatur, Ill., Monday evening, Nov. 22, after a three weeks illness, were held at Ward’s funeral home, Friday, Nov. 26, at 2 p.m. The Rev. Thomas B. Collins, pastor of the Methodist Church, conducted the rites and burial was in the Clear Lake Cemetery.

Mr. Farrow was born July 10, 1860, at Oakley, Ill. The Family moved from Illinois to Ashton, Kans., in 1915 and after 3 ½ years to Portland, near Mason City, where they lived until Mrs. Farrow died. Since then Mr. Farrow had lived with relatives. Besides his son, Samuel Farrow, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. J.P. Clingan and a sister, Mrs. Dora Adkins of Ottawa, Ill.

Relatives attending the funeral were, Mr. and Mrs. Clinger and daughter Jean, Minburn, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Farrow and family, Adel; Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Fessler, Swaledale; Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Petersen, Ventura; and Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Farrow, Clear Lake.

Pallbearers were W.J. McGowan, George Sheridan, F.E. Bruce, W.C. Fuston, Wm. Able and L.E. Jacobson. Mrs. R.C. Taylor sang, “In the Sweet Bye and Bye” and “The Old Rugged Cross” accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Willis Miller.

Transcriber’s Note – John Farrow was born July 10, 1860, died November 22, 1943 and was buried in the Clear Lake Cemetery, Section C Row 10.
