MRS. OTT’S RITES HELD AT CHURCH
FORMER SHEFFIELD RESIDENT DIES AT HOME OF H. MASON

CLEAR LAKE – Funeral services for Mrs. Frank Ott who died Tuesday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Harry Mason, Jefferson street, were held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at the Methodist church, the Rev B.W. Riner officiating.

Pallbearers were J.C. Davenport, Ed Rushia, Charles Findson, E.P. Carpenter, Frank Miller, and W.B. Scroggins. Mrs. E.P. Carpenter was in charge of flowers.

Mrs. R.A. Monaghen sang two numbers: “The Old Rugged Cross” and “No Night There.”

Ada Esslinger was born March 17, 1867, at Genesco, Ill., and came with her parents to Iowa when three years of age, living on a farm near Sheffield.

She was united in marriage to Frank Ott on April 23, 1890. The young couple lived in the vicinity of Sheffield and Hampton until 1905 when they moved near Clear Lake where they resided on a farm for 18 years. In 1923 they retired and moved to Clear Lake to spend the remainder of their days.

Three children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Ott. They were Irma, now Mrs. Harry Mason; Lucille, now Mrs. Wayne Walker, Garden Grove, Cal., and Merle Ott, deceased. Mr. Ott died July 31, 1934.

Mrs. Ott was a member of the Methodist church and much interested in the work of the Woman’s Home Missionary society.

Besides her two daughters, Mrs. Ott is survived by two grandchildren, Marilyn Louise Ott-Mason, and Walter Wayne Walker; one sister, Mrs. C.L. Kiefer, Des Moines; and three brothers, George and Lloyd Esslinger, Sheffield, and Hayes Esslinger, Des Moines.

Mrs. Ott has been in poor health for several years and was confined to her bed for the past four months.

Burial was in the Clear Lake Cemetery.
