RITES HELD FOR FRANK W. OTT
STARTED FARMING NEAR SHEFFIELD; LIVED AT LAKE 29 YEARS

CLEAR LAKE, Aug 3 -- Funeral services for Frank Ott were held Friday afternoon at the Methodist church with the Rev. B.W. Riner officiating.

Miss Violet Wolford and Mrs. D.E. Kenyon sang several numbers with Mrs. Willis Miller at the organ. Burial was made in the Clear Lake Cemetery.

Mr. Ott died Tuesday evening from a heart attack. He had suffered illness for some time.

Mr. Ott was born May 17, 1862 at Hooppol, Ill., coming to Iowa at the age of 24 and working near Sheffield. He was married to Ada Esslinger of Sheffield in 1890and a short while afterwards began farming in West Fork township. A year later they moved to Hampton where they resided for five years. In 1905 they moved to Clear Lake Vicinity farming for the next 18 years.

He is survived by his daughters, Mrs. Harry Mason, Clear Lake, Mrs. Lucille Walker, Garden Grove, Cal., and his wife. A son, Merle, died five years ago.

Pallbearers were Ed Rushia, Charles Findson, J.C. Davenport, Frank Miller, W.B. Scroggins and E.P. Carpenter. Among the out of town relatives at the services were Mrs. C.L. Kiefer, Des Moines, sister of Mrs. Frank Ott; Mr. and Mrs. George Ott, Luverne, Minn., brother and sister-in-law of Frank Ott.

Transcriber’s Note – Frank W. Ott was born May 17, 1862, died August 1934 and was buried in the Clear Lake Cemetery, Section B Row 10.
