LOIS SORENSEN

Lois M. Sorensen, 72, 122 N. 7th, died Thursday (Nov. 21, 1985) at her home.

Services were held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Clear Lake. The Rev. James Duster officiated. Burial was in Clear Lake Cemetery. Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel was in charge of the funeral arrangements.

Born March 1, 1913, in Waterloo, she was the daughter of Guy and Geneva Barnes. She married Harry Sorensen in September 1956, and the couple moved to Marshalltown. They owned a small manufacturing business called the American Machine Products Co.

They retired and moved to Des Moines in 1975. Mr. Sorensen died in 1982. Mrs. Sorensen moved to Clear Lake on Oct. 1 of this year. She was a member of St. Theresa’s parish, Des Moines.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Charles (Jackie) Gerk of Clear Lake; three step-daughters, Lois Foll of San Carlos, Calif., Norma Grinstead of Runnels and Irma Fouts of Cleveland; one sister, Mrs. Juanita Schilling of Carpinterio, Calif.; two brothers, Leonard Barnes of Port Charlotte, Fla., and Eugene Barnes of Fillmore, Calif., and five grandchildren.

Music was provided by Marie Faber, organist, and the church funeral choir. Arthur Gerk, Robert Furleigh, All Fangman, J.D. Nelson, Reuben Escherich, Jr., and James Smith were pallbearers.
