C. H. ROGERS, 74, BURIED AT LAKE
RETIRED FARMER WAS BORN AT GUILPH, CANADA

CLEAR LAKE – Funeral services for Charles Hutton Rogers, 74, who died at a Mason City hospital Thursday after a long illness, were held Monday afternoon at the Methodist church. The Rev. Thomas B. Collins, pastor, conducted the rites and burial was in Clear Lake cemetery. Ward’s funeral home was in charge.

Pallbearers were D.E. Kenyon, E.L. Yeager, Dr. J.T. Charlesworth, Henry C. Anderson and Fred Peterson. Mrs. Charlesworth and Mrs. Harold Aitchison arranged the flowers. Mrs. K.E. Jacobson, with Mrs. Harry Mason at the organ, sang “The Home of the Soul” and “Abide With Me.”

Mr. Rogers was born in Guilph, Canada, Sept. 30, 1869, and emigrated with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard N. Rogers, to Jackson county, when a boy. He lived there until he came to Lincoln township in 1896, engaging in farming until 1921 when he moved to Clear Lake.

He was married Oct. 4, 1898 to Miss Ruth McWilliams of Rockwood, Canada, who died Sept. 22, 1937.

Mr. Rogers united with the Methodist church at Sterling when a boy and later with the Methodist church at Clear Lake, where he was a trustee until his death.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Five sisters, Mrs. Emma Zimmerman, Toronto, Canada; Mrs. George McKee, High River, Alberta; Mrs. Guy Hill, Wahkan, Minn.; Mrs. A.J. Harrison, Dunkirk, N.Y. and Miss Ella Rogers, Clear Lake, survive.

Mrs. Harrison and Mrs. Hill and Mrs. T.G. Sevennes, Atlanta, Ga., a niece, and Orian Roger Sevennes, a grand-nephew, attended the funeral from out of town.
