V. JACOBSON FUNERAL RITES TO BE MONDAY

CLEAR LAKE – Funeral services for Mrs. Henry (Vernetta) Jacobson, 66, will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Zion Lutheran Church. Mrs. Jacobson died early Friday morning in her sleep at her home, 317 S. 8th St., Clear Lake.

The Rev Murley Severtson will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Clear Lake Cemetery. Wilcox Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Vernetta Hanson Jacobson was born Oct. 27, 1901, in Popejoy, the daughter of Tom and Olive Benson Hanson. She was married to Henry Jacobson on July 11, 1924, in Mason City.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Pallbearers selected are Albert Christenson, Bob Nichols, Milton Carr, Fred Linahon, Elmer Moffett and Elton Hilts. Mrs. A.E. Folkmann is organist and Mrs. Loren Sadler is soloist.

Her husband was a barber in Clear Lake about 40 years. He preceded her in death in February 1967.

Mrs. Jacobson is survived by a daughter, Mrs. T.J. (Arlene) Laughlin, Des Moines; three sons, Donald and James, both of Cedar Falls; and Robert, Clear Lake; a brother, Allan Hanson, Clear Lake; four sisters, Mrs. Shelby (Opal) Pierce, Clear Lake; Mrs. Wayne (Theone) Wood, Clear Lake, Mrs. Charles (Viola) Williams, Ponca City, Okla.; and Mrs. Glen (Leona) Collinson, Oroville, Calif., and seven grandchildren.

TRANSCRIBER’S NOTE – Vernetta Jacobson was born October 27, 1901, died March 1968 and was buried in the Clear Lake Cemetery Section B Row 11.
