OAKWOOD MAN IS BURIED HERE
FUNERAL SERVICES FOR J.S. TEED HELD AT HOME IN CLEAR LAKE

CLEAR LAKE, Dec. 10 – A large crowd attended the funeral services for Joseph S. Teed, aged resident of this community, which were held at the home in Oakwood Park Monday afternoon. The Rev. J.R. Tumbleson, pastor of the Methodist Church, conducted the last rites. Sacred music was furnished by O.J. King, soloist, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Floyd Britt.

Mr. Teed was born Dec. 21, 1854, in Wisbeach, England. When he was about one year of age his parents came to America and located for a short time in Racine county, Wisc., but later moved to Chicago.

In 1877, Mr. Teed came to Clear Lake with his parents, and for a short time was active in the management of a fleet of sail and row boats on the lake. It was at this time he met Emma Waskie.

They were married Dec. 5, 1892. After a few years spent in Chicago the young couple came back to Clear Lake and bought a farm in Clear Lake Township. Later the present home was erected at Oakwood. After the death of Mrs. Teed Aug. 13 of this year, Mr. Teed failed rapidly in health until Dec. 6 when death came at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Mable Anderson at Mason City.

Those who are left to mourn are A.W. Teed, Watkins Glen, N.Y.; Mrs. Mabel Anderson, Mason City; Mrs. Adolph Kocourek, Lidgerwood, N. Dak.; Mrs. Ethel O’Brien of Clear Lake.

NOTE – Joseph S. Teed was born December 21, 1854, died December 6, 1929 and was buried in the Clear Lake Cemetery Section 5/6.
