HARRY HUGH OXLEY

Harry Oxley, 81, Route 1, died Friday afternoon, Jan. 15, in a Clear Lake nursing home where he had been living for the past three months.

Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Ward-Van Slyke Funeral Home with The Rev. Arthur Krebs, pastor of the First Congregational Church, officiating.

Harry Hugh Oxley , was born Nov. 9, 1889, on his farm south of Clear Lake, the son of George and Louisa (Hugh) Oxley. He attended Eden School and farmed most of his life with his brothers.

Surviving are two brothers, Vern and Will Oxley; one niece, Mr., William Shaffer, and two nephews.

He was preceded in death by four sisters.

Pallbearers selected were Dale Spilman, Amos Wood, Orval Spilman, Dorance Rosendahl, Carroll Etchen and Clare Olsen. Honorary pallbearers were Oliver Ong, Edward R. Boyle, Orville Stinehart, M.A. Arneson, Leroy Ziesmer and Glenn Westover. Visitation was after 11 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

NOTE – Harry Hugh Oxley was born November 9, 1889, died January 15, 1971 and was buried in the Clear Lake Cemetery Section 2 Row 13.
