FUNERAL IS HELD FOR W. ATKINSON
FORMER RESIDENT DIED AFTER UNDERGOING MAJOR OPERATION

CLEAR LAKE – Funeral services were held at the Williams Funeral Home Wednesday for William Atkinson who died Tuesday forenoon at the hospital in Cherokee following a major operation. The Rev. B.W. Riner conducted the rites and burial was in the Clear Lake Cemetery.

Mr. Atkinson, the son of John and Eva Atkinson, was born on a farm southeast of Clear Lake, Sept. 30, 1879, and grew up in that neighborhood. He was never married. Due to failing health, he had been at the hospital for 28 years.

Mr. Atkinson is survived by his brother, Walter Atkinson, who resides near Clear Lake. He had no other close relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother.

Pallbearers at the funeral were Dan Patton, Frank Daker, Ben Skadeland, Floyd Cookman, Harry Hubbard and Peter Knutson. Mrs. A.H. Runcie sang appropriate selections at the funeral.

NOTE – William Atkinson was born September 30, 1879, died 1936 and was buried in the Clear Lake Cemetery Section 1 Row 5.
