HOLD RITES FOR LAKE PIONEER
ANNA E. HAMSTREET SERVICES TAKE PLACE AT WILLIAMS HOME

CLEAR LAKE – Funeral services for Miss Anna E. Hamstreet, 63, who died at a Mason City hospital Saturday morning, were held at Williams Funeral Home Tuesday afternoon. The Rev. J.B. Calhoun, pastor of the Congregational Church, conducted the rites and burial was in Clear Lake Cemetery.

Mrs. Roger Nelson, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Arleigh Eddy, sang “Rock of Ages” and “Nearer My God to Thee.” Mrs. John Miles and Mrs. Clarence Borton arranged the flowers.

Six nephews, Roger and Gordon Nelson, Leslie Adams and Clifford, Carrell and Virgil Tice acted as pallbearers.

Miss Hamstreet was born in Union Township Aug. 10, 1877, the daughter of C.R. and Ella Hamstreet, pioneer residents of that vicinity. She spent her entire life in and near Clear Lake.

Preceding her death were her parents, a sister, Miss Zada Hamstreet and a brother, George.

Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. M.N. Nelson, Clear Lake, and Mrs. C.C. Rice, Swaledale, and three brothers, Charles Hamstreet, Mason City; Dr. W.S. Hamstreet, Titonka, and Clifford Hamstreet, Tucson, Ariz.

NOTE - Anna E. Hamstreet was born August 10, 1877, died 1940 and was buried in the Clear Lake Cemetery Section 1 Row 4
