GLENN DAVIS HAMBLIN

Funeral services for Glenn Davis Hamblin, 72, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 12 at the Evangelical Free Church with the Rev. Kent Wagner and the Rev. Philip Sorensen officiating.

Glenn Davis Hamblin was born Nov. 20, 1907 in Cerro Gordo County, near Mason City, the son of William and Alice Davis Hamblin. He received his education in rural schools and at Mason City High School. He then worked for Standard Oil Company. In 1930, Mr. Hamblin started working for the Mason City Fire Department as a detective. He continued this work until health caused his retirement in 1956.

Glenn was married to Charlotte Nyhus Stevens March 19, 1930 at Mason City. They made their home at Mason City until retirement and for the past 22 years have lived in their present home, RR#1, Ventura.

Glenn died March 10 at a Mason City hospital following an illness.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte; one daughter, Mrs. Maynard (Marcia) Dyer of Mason City; and a brother, William Hamblin, of Mason City.

He was a member of the Evangelical Free Church and was very interested in their new building program. He was also a member of the Mason City Police Auxiliary.

Organist for the services is Mrs. Stanley Brue and vocal selections are by Denzil and Rita Hoskins. Interment is at the Clear Lake Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Ardell Stevens, Gerald Mickelson, Willis Schwartz, Duane Pederson, Jonathon and David Erickson. Memorials are requested for the Evangelical Free Church building fund.

NOTE – Glenn Davis Hamblin was born November 20, 1907, died March 10, 1980 and was buried in the Clear Lake Cemetery Section G Row 4.
