P. O. HALVORSON DIES AT HOME
FUNERAL THURSDAY, 2 P.M. ZION UNITED LUTHERAN CHURCH

CLEAR LAKE – Funeral services for P. O, Halvorson, 74, who died at his home, 217 West Division Street, Tuesday afternoon after an illness of several weeks, will be held at the Zion Lutheran Church at 2 o’clock Thursday afternoon. The Rev. Ruben Mostrom, pastor, will conduct the rites and burial will be in Clear Lake Cemetery. Williams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Peter Olaf Halvorson was born to Peter and Martha Halvorson in Clayton County Jan. 27, 1868, the youngest son in a family of seven. When a young man he moved with his parents to a farm in Hancock County and later to Clear Lake. Here he became a partner in the Halvorson and Williams furniture store and later operated Halvorson’s general store. For the past 40 years, however, he had been a contractor and builder.

In 1909 he was united in marriage to Miss Bertha Burros of Westby, Wis., and to them was born one daughter, Mrs. Keith Crawford, 506 East Main Street.

Besides his wife and daughter, Mr. Halvorson is survived by one grandson, Larry Crawford, and by many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Halvorson was a member of the Zion United Lutheran Church.

NOTE – Peter Olaf Halvorson was born January 27, 1868, died 1942 and was buried in the Clear Lake Cemetery Section D Row 3.
