MRS. ADA BAKER BURIED AT LAKE

Former Resident Is Survived by Husband, Daughter, Two Sons

CLEAR LAKE - Funeral services for Mrs. Ada F. Baker, 82, Orange, Cal., who died at the home of her brother, Fred Robinson, Lovington, N. Mex., Saturday, were held at Ward's funeral home Wednesday afternoon. The Rev. Thomas B. Collins, pastor of the First Methodist church, conducted the rites.

Pallbearers were Will Rich, H. E. Freeman, R. R. Rogers, E. W. Winnie, Leland Pataterson and Ira Stewart. Mrs. Will Rich and Mrs. H. H. Halvorson arranged the flowers.

Mrs. Baker was born at Montreal, Canada, March 2, 1836, and came to Clear Lake with her parents, the Rev. and Mrs. J. A. Robinson. The Rev. Mr. Robinson was pastor of the Methodist church at Clear Lake.

She was married to Charles E. Johnson May 3, 1973, and to this union four children were born, three of the surviving. The family moved to Des Moines in 1904 and Mr. Johnson died there in 1918. His body was brought to Clear Lake for burial and Mrs. Baker was buried beside him Wednesday.

In October, 1921, Mrs. Johnson was married to James Pester of Clear Lake. He died in October, 1924. In October, 1925, she was married to Addison M. Baker of Clear Lake and Orange Cal., who survives. Mrs. Baker resided in Orange until the past year when, withthecontinued illness of Mr. Baker, she came to live with her daughter, Mrs. Bert Epperson, in Omaha, Nebr. She went this summer to visit her brother in New Mexico and there became ill and died Aug. 26.

Besides her husband and daughter, Mrs. Baker is survived by two sons, Albert L. Johnson of San Antonio, Texas, and Edward C. Johnson, Memphis, Tenn. Both sons of Mr. and Mrs. Epperson were present at the funeral. Other relatives from a distance attending were Miss Lucille Peterson, Mrs. William Bradley and A. O. Peterson, Estherville.

Mrs. Frank Palmer, Mrs. Nita Church and Miss Abbie Eldridge, Clear Lake, are nieces of Mrs. Baker.

For many years Mrs. Baker was a member of Park chapter No. 35, o. E. S., at Clear Lake.
