MARIE A. BONNER

Clear Lake - Marie A. Bonner, 86, of 12 Sunset View Drive, Clear Lake, died Saturday (July 11, 2009) at Oakwood Care Center, Clear Lake.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Richland Lutheran Church, Thornton, with the Rev. Gaylin Schmeling officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City. Visitation will be one hour before the service on Monday at the church. Family suggests memorials to the Marie A. Bonner Memorial Fund.

Marie was born Dec. 9, 1922 in Mason City, the daughter of William and Nettie (Urdahl) Dyer. She graduated from Mason City High School in 1940.

Marie married Donald Bonner in 1941. They lived in the Burchinal area and later moved to rural Thornton where they farmed. After retiring from farming they moved to Clear Lake, where she worked as a dietitian at the Oakwood Care Center, Clear Lake.

She enjoyed cross stitching, visiting with her neighbors and watching the Hawkeyes. Marie was a member of Richland Lutheran Church, Thornton.

She is survived by her four children, Shirley Walton, Belle Plaine, Minn., Marjorie Bartholmey, Charles City, Don Bonner Jr., Mason City, and Barb Luckason, Kensett; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by parents; husband; son, Jim; two sisters, Ruby and Gladys; and two brothers, Lawrence and Ernest.
