NEIL THOMAS BOONSTRA

CLEAR LAKE - Neil Thomas Boonstra, 18, of Clear Lake, died Thursday (Nov.8, 2001) at the Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa in Mason City.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Monday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 419 North Delaware Ave., Mason City, with Reverend Daird Korth officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery, Highway 122 West, Mason City.

Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 North 4th Street, Clear Lake, and one hour before the service on Monday at the church.

Neil Thomas Boonstra was born on Nov. 3, 1983, in Mason City, the son of Thomas and Lori (McMenimen) Boonstra. He attended and received his education in the Clear Lake School system and October of this year had received his GED.

Neil loved music, playing his guitar, computers, hanging out with his friends, shopping for clothes, going to coffee houses and drinking espressos, and enjoying his dog Wiggy.

He was a member of the YMCA in Mason City.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Lori McMenimen of Clear Lake; a brother, Max Boonstra of Clear Lake; his grandfather, Russell McMenimen of Salome, Ariz.; his grandmother, Ann Boonstra of Mason City; a very special aunt, Peggy Boonstra of Mason City; aunt, Doreen Pearsall of Danville, Calif.; uncles, Michael McMenimen and his wife Becky of Apache Junction, Ariz., Doug McMenimen and his wife Wuana of McAllen, Texas, and Ronald McMenimen and his wife Lauren of Tempe, Ariz.; numerous cousins, as well as other relatives and friends.

His father, Thomas Boonstra; maternal grandmother, Shirley McMenimen, and paternal grandfather, Harry Boonstra, preceded him in death.
